Imagine a tarot reading for guidance as part of your weekly session.

What does it mean to practice spiritual psychotherapy? I resisted the term for a while, feeling the distinction to be a false one - similar to my resistance to the term somatic psychotherapy. All psychotherapy is somatic since there are bodies involved! Similarly, all psychotherapy is spiritual, whether acknowledged or not.

By speaking explicitly about the spiritual aspect of the work I mean to say that I do, as clients request, include spiritual practices such as tarot readings, astrology, and shamanic healing as part of the work of psychotherapy.

These practices offer insight, restoration of power, clearing of negative and stuck energies and open the door to new ways of perceiving your current situation.

I am open to talking about life in all its levels. Including: what are we doing here? What is the meaning of it all? What is a particular challenge asking of you from an evolutionary standpoint?

I can offer you tools - how to clear your energy, deepening your healing with ceremony, learning to meditate.

All of this in a boundaried and confidential psychotherapeutic container where I keep a constant watch on the traditional things a therapist needs to pay attention to - your emotions, your awareness, your relationship patterns, your self esteem, and your needs in the therapy.

Credentials & Bio

Diploma, Centre for Training in Psychotherapy

Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Registration #001373.

I spent 15 years in capital markets as a trader and research analyst. I am a CFA Charterholder and have a Masters in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University. All the while, another part of me was talking. This part wanted to learn how to engage more fully in the world—to bring more of myself to the table. That journey brought me to the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy and a career as a psychotherapist. I have experienced many difficult challenges in my life and therapy has been crucial to becoming who I am today.

Clients describe me as solid, quick, kind, and persistent. I work hard and enjoy the work immensely. I am continually asking more of myself and seeking to grow and learn. The process of therapy involves both of us, and I am committed to growing as a therapist and person and to bringing this growth to my work with clients. I have a strong sense of humor and enjoy seeing the world and its oddities through the eyes of my clients.

Since becoming a psychotherapist, I have expanded my healing and understanding to include a range of modalities, including plant medicine, core energetics, and sacred sexuality. I am also strongly influenced by psychoanalysis, radical ethics, and trauma work. Each new experience opens me more deeply to my clients and broadens my understanding of what makes change possible. See the approach page for details on my spiritual education.

I start the process of a therapy by learning as much as I can about you. I will have lots of questions and will listen closely to what you are telling me. I want to hear your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I will give my perspective, and you can tell me if I am on the right track.

As we build a relationship, we will see what needs to be done and together we will figure out how therapy can best address your needs.
