Black Lives Matter

Copy of Untitled.jpg

The murder of George Floyd was sickening.  Unacceptable.  Unspeakable.

It has, in some form, been the subject of almost every therapy conversation I have had in the past two weeks.

Finally, and way too late, we are having conversations that need to be had.

This document was put together by:

Anna Stamborski, M. Div Candidate (2022)

Nikki Zimmermann, M. Div Candidate (2021)

Bailie Gregory, M. Div, M.S. Ed.

It offers resources for learning about anti-racism and activism organized into categories based on where you are in the journey of learning.  It is a structured process to work through.  If you find value in it I encourage you to make a donation in support of organizations supported by the authors (links in the document).

There is always more to learn.  Readers of this blog know this is one of my core values.  This applies to understanding how we relate to other people.  Have your feelings - absolutely - but we are responsible for how they are expressed and once we have moved through the feeling - let’s be curious about what we are not seeing… what more there is to understand and learn….

Those of us who are in therapy understand this very well and have the opportunity to apply it to systemic conversations.

This time in history is an opportunity.

Change can be very uncomfortable.

Let’s walk our talk.
