My friend and colleague, Naturopathic Doctor Katie Thomson Aitken has written a book that I think could be useful to many readers on this blog.

The book is an introduction to reducing anxiety.  I love her language:  Create Calm.  This is something that we can create.  Through repeated small actions on our own behalf every day.

Myself, I am swimming in figure eights at the bottom of the lake.  It’s cold down here.  The truest thing I can say is that from this depth most of my life appears to have been grasping, flailing....

That’s not a judgment of myself - it’s clarity.  Clarity from the depths.

Someone close to me said the most lovely thing this morning.  He said - if most of your life has been in fear imagine what’s going to happen when that energy gets transmuted into grounded life force energy.

I feel a bit teary thinking of this.  The tears warm the lake water slightly.
